GroundScapes is a prototype of an interactive 3-D virtual garden that offers an alternative way of archiving place-based, intergenerational, and cultural memory combining new media and oral history. It showcases and shares information on culturally relevant herbs, plants, recipes, and gardening methods.
A web-based interactive design means that more people can access information with minimum technology – just internet connection and a device!
My artistic practice leans heavily on community-based participatory research frameworks, which means that contributors get a say in what content and information are shared, and are able to navigate the garden as accessibly as possible.
